Westworld Studio

Westworld Studio in Van Nuys CA is where 'Big Rhythm Combo' and many other blues sessions (James Harman, Lynwood Slim, Kid Ramos) were recorded. Bob Schiner, pictured, built the studio: did the design and construction, designed and built almost all the equipment in this picture, and was a real good 'old-school' engineer like myself. Any problem or odd-ball thing we wanted to do, he could come up with a way to do it or make it work. He is the inventor of the 'Van Halen filter' mentioned in the James Harman CD. He's one of our unsung heros, spending many years working and improving his 'low-tech' studio in the days of computer-generated recording. All good things come to an end, and with Bob's passing a year ago, the studio has closed. The engine that drove it was gone. We'll miss him and his studio.
